Ed Emptage has just forwarded some information on a brand new Topps collection, a first in the United Kingdom as it's not the Premier League or the Champions League but a collection featuring the first team squad of Portsmouth FC who play in League One, the third tier of English football. I hope to be able to add a checklist soon.
Portsmouth Football Club are excited to announce the launch of exclusive 2019 Pompey squad Topps Collectable Cards. They can be pre-ordered online now, with two sets available to purchase. The first is a full set containing cards that have been pre-signed with authentic player autographs. There are a limited number of just 50 of these sets available this season, so do not miss your opportunity to secure one. The second is an identical pack, but with one pre-signed card, allowing fans the chance to collect the other player signatures themselves. Each pack contains individual cards for all of the current Pompey first team squad, as well as manager Kenny Jackett and his assistant Joe Gallen. The limited edition fully-signed sets – of which there just 50 available – are priced at £49.99. The set containing one pre-signed card is priced at just £14.99.
Topps is part of The Tornante Company – which owns Portsmouth FC – and known as an iconic and world-leading producer of American football, baseball, basketball, Champions League, Premier League, and other sports and non-sports themed trading cards. The official launch of the Portsmouth FC Topps cards will take place in the Pompey club shop in Anson Road from 3.30pm-5.30pm on Friday, March 29. A selection of Pompey players will be in store, allowing supporters the opportunity to get some of their official Topps cards personally signed. All fans who pre-order will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a private signing session with the first team at the Pompey training ground. Topps Trading Cards that have been pre-ordered using the ‘click and collect’ delivery method will be available to collect from the Pompey club shop on Friday, March 29, coinciding with the player signing session. Alternatively, supporters can opt for postal delivery, although we cannot guarantee delivery until the week commencing April 1.
